Veteran Resource Advocate (VRA) Certification
Become Veteran Resource Advocate (VRA) certified
The Veteran Resource Advocate (VRA) certification is an optional professional designation offered through Ember Enrichment Centers. This certification is designed for those who want to go beyond basic training and become recognized experts in navigating the VA benefits landscape. As a VRA, you are trained to help Veterans access the hundreds of benefits they have earned, ensuring that they are never charged for this essential assistance.
At the heart of the VRA certification is a commitment to ethical advocacy. Founder Nathan Sutton established this program to empower individuals to “stand in the way” of organizations that exploit Veterans for financial gain. Certified VRAs are equipped with the knowledge to provide high-level education and navigation services for free or as part of a mission-driven organization, preserving the dignity of those who served.
The VRA certification encompasses the full spectrum of VA knowledge, from VHA and VBA structures to the nuances of service-connected disability claims. Candidates learn the intricacies of the 13 in-home care programs and the 8 residential care services for aging Veterans. This rigorous training ensures that every certified advocate can handle complex cases involving stackable benefits, CCN referrals. housing, SC/NSC claims, VA healthcare access, education, occupation…..no matter what the need, there is a resource available.
Earning your VRA certification distinguishes you as a leader in the field of Veteran care and benefit navigation.
Master the same systems Nathan Sutton used during his twelve years working at the Department of Veterans Affairs.
Gain deep expertise in homeless resources, low-income support, and survivor benefits.
Learn how to network and market your services within the VA ecosystem to increase your community impact.
Join an online networking and resource support community to stay updated on VA policy changes.
I designed the program also to make sure that there is No Wrong Door for a Veteran to walk through where they get the wrong information or no information at all. This training makes sure your door is the right door for a Veteran to walk through where they get the support and resources they served for.

Certified VRAs serve as vital resources in their local areas, providing a level of care that goes far beyond simple paperwork. They understand how to "map" a VA Medical Center and ensure Veterans exercise their rights to Community Care. By mastering the "Six Steps to CCN Referrals," VRAs ensure that Veterans receive quality, uninterrupted care in their own homes or residential facilities.

Ember Enrichment Centers is committed to the long-term success of its advocates. We are soon launching a Benefits Navigation app and expanding our online workshops to provide VRAs with the most modern tools available. This certification is not just a one-time event but an entry into a professional community dedicated to excellence and integrity in Veteran care.

Are you ready to take your commitment to Veterans to the next level? The VRA certification provides the expertise and the ethical framework to make a lasting difference. Apply for our next certification cohort and join Nathan Sutton in his mission to help every Veteran access the benefits they have earned.
We take immense pride in our track record of serving organizations nationwide to support Veterans and their families across various industries.
